The educational program for adults “The folk art of Varnavas, the embroidered bread” was successfully completed by the Varnava Folklore Company – European Bread Museum.
The educational program included presentations by expert scientists on the topic of intangible cultural heritage, its importance for local communities and the possibilities of its utilization. During the program, the bread embroiderers shared their experiences with the trainees both in person by being present at the venue and by showing extracts of oral interviews already collected by collaborators of the Varnavas Folklore Company and the European Museum of Bread. The practical part of the educational program included workshops, in which the trainees were taught the art of embroidered bread and put into practice what they had learned by making their own creations. In addition, following the interest expressed by the educational community, the program also involved teachers who will in turn pass on the knowledge gained to the student population. The result of all this has been the creation of a museum device which will allow teachers to present the program to their students (simulation of the program).
The project was implemented under the auspices and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
