The Friendship Clubs of Greek-Russians and Agios Meletios of the municipality of Athens were welcomed by the Varnavas Folklore Company and the European Museum of Bread within the framework of the educational programme “Bread – Harmony”.
The activities are provided free of charge under the auspices and support of the Ministry of Culture. The aim of the programme is to provide an interesting educational experience for older people as well, through art and creativity. Through the making of bread and other dough objects, the programme seeks to achieve their integration into artistic expression. An important part of the programme was the creation of decorative objects and figures from dough, drawing inspiration from the natural and social environment. The visitors of the two Friendship Clubs were also guided through the European Bread Museum and the interactive rural folklore museum and were treated to local traditional dishes.
